Sisters Bae Nae-hye and Yuga, as Coaches and Players... Softball Hangzhou AG Confirmed
On the 28th, the Korea Baseball Softball Association confirmed and announced 17 female national softball players to participate in the Hangzhou Asian Games.
The Hangzhou Asian Games Women"s Softball will be held from September 26th to October 2nd.
On the national team list, infielder Bae Yoo-ga (Gyeongnam Sports Association) stands out the most.
Bae Yoo-ga will participate in the Asian Games three times in a row, following Incheon in 2014 and Jakarta and Palembang in 2018.
Bae Yoo-ga"s older sister, Bae Nae-hye, joined the Korean national team as a coach.
Coach Bae Nae-hye, a third-generation Korean-Japanese, participated in the 2008 Beijing Olympics as a representative of Japan and won a gold medal.
She became a naturalized Korean in 2014 and has since been active as a player and coach in Korea.
In the 2018 Jakarta/Palembang competition, she also competed as a national team with her sisters Bae Nae-hye and Yuga.
The association introduced, "It is the first time in Korean softball history that sisters compete in the Asian Games as coaches and players."
The softball team is led by head coach Noh Jong-woo (Incheon Sports Association).
Coach Scott Cranford assists head coach Noh Jong-woo along with coach Bae Nae-hye.
The Korean national team, which finished 5th in the Softball Asia Cup held in Incheon in April of this year, went to the Jincheon National Training Center every month to train to improve their batting and defensive weaknesses they discovered during the tournament. Coach Noh Jong-woo said ,
“It is an honor to be able to represent Korea in the Hangzhou Asian Games wearing the Taegeuk mark.”
I will show you a great game by pouring everything into it."
The national team convenes on September 3 and trains until September 23 before moving to Hangzhou, China.
